Joi is the winner of the 2014 World Summit Youth Award for her “Green is the New Gangsta” project. The World Summit Youth Award is a unique global contest which brings together young developers and digital entrepreneurs who use internet and mobile technology to put the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) into action.
Joi is one of nineteen social entrepreneurs from around the world who was offered a prestigious fellowship to the DO School’s Packaging Challenge with H&M Germany. The DO School is an innovative educational fellowship organization which empowers social entrepreneurs to turn their ideas into action. The One-Year Program kicked off with a ten-week Incubation Phase in Hamburg, Germany where fellows worked together to create an innovative packaging solution for one of H&M Germany’s product lines. During the ten month incubation phase, fellows are currently working to create their own start-ups with the support of the DO School team.
